The Certification that Opens Doors

Against the backdrop of today’s employment landscape, it’s important to differentiate yourself from your competition. And, as organizations move toward integrating their governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives in order to support their business goals, it’s critical to demonstrate to your potential or current employer that you have mastered the principles and practices of GRC.  That’s why obtaining the GRC Group’s Certification in GRC should be your next career goal.

The CGRC (Certified in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance) credential communicates that you have three years of professional experience and have been certified, though testing, as having the following knowledge:

  • The role of corporate governance
  • Measuring corporate performance
  • Roles of directors, shareholders, owners, and managers
  • Roles and responsibilities of board committees
  • How to fairly measure management performance to ensure that shareholders’ interests are being met
  • COSO Enterprise Risk Management framework
  • Best practices in control frameworks
  • How to manage auditor expectations
  • How to meet regulatory requirements
  • How to leverage investment in internal controls to support business goals and objectives

If you wish to delve deeper and specialize in one facet of GRC, the GRC Group also offers the following credentials: Certified in Governance (CGOV), Certified in Integrated Risk Management (CIRM), and Certified in Internal Control Management (CICM).

The GRC Group’s Pro-Level Certifications communicate that you have all of the knowledge associated with your specialty, along with 1,200 hours of related work experience over the past three years. The Pro-Level Certifications include Certified Governance Professional (CGOVP), Certified Integrated Risk Management Professional (CIRMP), Certified Internal Control Management Professional (CICMP), Certified Governance Risk Compliance Professional (CGRCP), and Certified Governance Risk Compliance Manager (CGRCM).

Once you are Certified, the GRC Group’s maintenance program ensures that your certification retains its value. Our member-only journals, our newsletters, our webinars, and other GRC Group learning activities help you stay abreast of developments in the field while keeping your certification current.
